• If you want a lesson to be memorable, tell a story.

Susie loves inspiring children and young people's imagination with stories that help them to think, learn, grow and become all they can be.

After vast experience in the performing arts, time as a drama teacher and years as part of a three-woman storytelling act, Susie has been working as an independent storyteller since 2010.

Specialising in education and focusing on schools in Greater Manchester, the North West and Yorkshire, Susie's vast repertoire of traditional myths and folk tales are brought bang up to date with her modern and energetic performance style. Pupils laugh and learn in equal measure as Susie takes them on daring adventures in far off lands.

  • Susie loves the co-creative art of storytelling. As she tells a story every child imagines it differently, re-creating the tale in their own way. A great story is something everyone shares and something every child can call their own. It is truly a gift.

When she tells a story, takes an assembly, runs a workshop or works with a class Susie is looking to engage every child, to ignite their imagination and help them take a thought, idea or moral away from the tale.

  • Susie has visited us at Ripon Grammar School several times and it is always a fantastic day of fun! She has delivered her interactive performances of myths and legends to Year 7 and 8. She has worked on storytelling techniques with Year 11, and on one occasion she trained a couple of Sixth Form students who then gave a storytelling performance to Year 5 and 6 pupils in a local primary school! I’m sure it won’t be long before she is back again.
